To work with clients to develop personalized health and fitness plans and monitor client development. This position is responsible for designing and implementing individual workout programs for all fitness levels and ages, demonstrating and coaching clients on proper use of cardiovascular and strength equipment, and promoting safe technique and form when weight training. A personal trainer may have the opportunity to work with clients – individual and partner sessions as well as instruct Bootcamp, TRX and X-Fit/Olympic Lifting classes.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of all policies and procedures of the facilities and personal training program
• Greet clients and educate members and/or guests on fitness-related topics
• Provide monthly workshops on fitness-related topics
• Conduct fitness assessments, fitness orientations, and health consultations while maintaining a high level of confidentiality
• Responds to all building emergencies (Accidents/Injuries, Inclement Weather, etc)
• Assist with publicity and promotion of new and existing programs/services
• Ensure outstanding customer service.
• Works cooperatively with other areas of the department to achieve established goals.
• Performs other work as assigned.

• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact with diverse groups through a variety of situations.
• Mandatory attendance at monthly training meetings.
• Ability to use independent judgment.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Must manage training schedule and be able to accommodate a variable work schedule that may include early mornings, late evening and weekends.
• Must successfully complete the Personal Trainer Audition.

Training requirements

• Currently hold a National Personal Training certification (ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NSCA, NASM, CSCS etc.)
• Certification of CPR/AED or willingness to obtain.
• Complete Bloodborne Pathogens Training.
• Attend required in service meetings and training.
• HIPPA training upon hire.
• Must successfully complete a criminal background check.
