Facility Supervisor - HTRC & HRF

Rate of pay: $10.50/hour

Work location: Hawkeye Tennis & Recreation Complex & Hawkeye Recreation Fields

Basic job function

To assist in the day to day management of the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex, including the Iowa Turf, and the Hawkeye Recreation Fields, for the benefit of the members and the university community.  This position requires a mature individual with good communication and leadership skills. 

Responsibilities

  • Enforces facility policies and procedures (Accessibility Issues, Rules of Activity).
  • Carries out security measures (Proper Opening and Closing Duties, Accountability for Building Keys, Money Handling, etc…).
  • Responds to all building emergencies (Accidents/Injuries, Inclement Weather, etc…).
  • Assist in the training, supervision and evaluation of Membership Services Attendants
  • Executes the set-up of activity areas for variety of internal & external groups (Includes Meeting Rooms, Classrooms, etc…).
  • Ensures the uses of proper fields/courts according to facility schedules.
  • Provides support for special events, as needed.
  • Ensures outstanding customer service.
  • Works cooperatively with other areas of the department to achieve established goals.
  • Promotes a safe, clean, functional and marketable facility.
  • Performs other work as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Outstanding customer service skills; competent computer and audio-visual skills.
  • Ability to interact with diverse groups through a variety of situations.
  • Mandatory attendance at training meetings.
  • Ability to use independent judgment when needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Provide own transportation to Recreation Fields when Cambus is not running.
  • At least one year of experience working at Recreational Services is preferred.

Training requirements

  • Criminal Background Check upon hire
  • CPR/AED/ First Aid Certification
  • Completion of University of Iowa Bloodborne Pathogens training
  • FERPA training
  • Cash Handling training
  • Credit card Security training
  • UIOWA Security Awareness training
  • Campus Security Authority training
  • Recreational Service Orientation
