Hawk Shop Accounting Assistant

Rate of pay: $10.40/hour

Work location: Iowa Memorial Union

Basic job function

Assist in performing a variety of bookkeeping related tasks for the Book Store and Hawk Shop.

Responsibilities

  • Balance book store sales spreadsheets to business office spreadsheets.
  • Maintain gift card purchase log.
  • Perform data entry on discounts for employees and departments.
  • Perform data entry for in-house discounts and in-house charges.
  • Provide assistance with daily balancing of sales reports as needed.
  • Enter mark ups and mark downs from Buyers.
  • Perform work associated with Apple Commission:  reconcile Apple ACH commission post against apple website.  Find matching invoices/credit memos to Apple spreadsheet and label them with the commission check information.
  • Assist with transfer collection and entry:  run point of sale transfer reports and enter into worksheets.
  • Provides basic office assistance including filing and photocopying.

Qualifications

  • UI registered student, preferably student enrolled in the business school.
  • Experience with data entry.
  • Proficient use of Excel.
  • Able to work independently and have great attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Previous office experience preferred.
