Office Assistant - CSIL

Rate of pay: $10.10/hour

Work location: Iowa Memorial Union - CSIL

Basic job function

Serve as a representative of the Center for Student Involvement & Leadership (CSIL) and assist in the daily operation of CSIL.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with reception and general office tasks and duties.
  • Answer patron questions and inquiries regarding registered student organizations, Fraternity & Sorority Life, CSIL Leadership Programs, student organization programming, CSIL, and IMU.
  • Answer telephone and communicate information quickly and precisely to appropriate personnel.
  • Sort, distribute, and collect CSIL and student organization mail.
  • Process and deposit checks and enter into departmental check-log.
  • Manage and log student organization waiver and assumption of risk forms.
  • Manage student organization sign-up processes.
  • Facilitate office check-out processes (radios, keys, equipment, etc.).
  • Organize and inventory CSIL and related programs and services publications and brochures.
  • Assist staff and students utilize Engage (student organization database software).
  • Maintain confidential information.
  • Perform related duties as assigned, showing flexibility and willingness to help in diverse situations.

Qualifications

  • Registered UI student.
  • Must be able to work five or more hours per week.
  • Knowledge of registered student organization policies, procedures, and regulations is desired.
  • Experience in registered student organizations, student leadership, and/or campus programming is preferred.
  • Superior communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
