Outdoor Rental Center Manager

Basic job function

Position will work closely with Outdoor Rental Center student staff and Assistant Director to lead day to day management of the Outdoor Rental Center.  This position is responsible for supervision of staffing and equipment rental inventory and requires a mature, dedicated individual with good communication and proven leadership skills.  Extensive experience in outdoor recreation is required.

Responsibilities

  • Extensive knowledge of all policies and procedures of facilities, programs, equipment and operations.
  • Train staff to keep facilities and equipment in excellent condition while also providing great customer service to our members.
  • May be required to work special events outside normal hours of operation.
  • Works cooperatively with other areas of the department to achieve established goals.
  • Leads Lifetime Leisure Skills Class equipment packing.
  • Assist in the training, supervision and evaluation of ORC student staff.
  • Coordinate staff scheduling for hours and operations.
  • Provides support and coordinate special events and large group rentals.
  • Ensures outstanding customer service.
  • Enforces facility policies and procedures (accessibility issues, rules of activity).
  • Provide leadership at monthly staff meetings.
  • Performs other work as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous employment with the Department of Recreational Services.
  • Outdoor Recreation Experience Required.
  • Outstanding customer service skills; competent computer and audio-visual skills.
  • Ability to interact with diverse groups through a variety of situations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and good judgment.
  • A passion for the outdoors!
