Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and on-boarding of student/hourly employees within the Division of Student Life. Assist with other administrative functions including data entry and filing.

Responsibilities

• Greet and help any student, staff, or customer that come into the office
• Promptly respond to student, supervisor, or staff inquiries by email or phone call
• Maintaining the Data Collection system, which is crucial to our hiring process
• Communicating pre-employment requirements to new hires
• Manage non-transactional pre-employment processes
• Monitoring and ensuring completion of compliance requirements
• Process, track, and analyze report data for HR Representatives and HR Coordinators
• Assisting P&S Transaction Specialists as needed
• Conduct a short orientation for new employees
• May track performance revies to assure completion
• Advertise and maintain current job openings by posting and updating as needed and tracking such changes
• Respond daily to applicants who are seeking employment
• Create and send out offer letters to temporary employees
• Assist with scanning documents and other clerical tasks
• Represent Division of Student Life Human Resources by participating in recruitment activities as needed
• Exhibit behavior and appearance expected of a professional
• Assist with data entry
• Assist with special projects as opportunities arise
• Assist with providing coverage in Vice President of Student Life office, as needed

Qualifications

• Registered UI student.
• Must be able to make a one-year commitment and start working Summer 2024.
• Must be in sophomore standing or above
• Demonstrated professionalism, organization and communication/customer service skills necessary
• Experience with computer systems, preferably Microsoft Office
• Experience in an office or related work environment preferred
• Experience in a leadership capacity is desirable

• Criminal Background Check upon hire
• FERPA
• IMU Emergency Response Staff Training
