To assist in the day to day operation of the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center or Field House for the benefit of the members and the university community. This position is responsible for monitoring the weight and cardio areas for the safety of patrons, cleaning, and issuing equipment upon request. Other duties include carefully handling patron identification cards, laundry procedure, perform scheduled checks of the sauna, steam room and locker rooms.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of all policies and procedures of the facilities.
• Responds to all building emergencies (Accidents/Injuries, Inclement Weather, etc)
• General understanding of the operation of the CRWC or FH.
• Keep facility in excellent condition while also providing great customer service to our members.
• Conduct routine cleaning of fitness equipment.
• Ensures outstanding customer service.
• Works cooperatively with other areas of the department to achieve established goals.
• Promotes a safe, clean, functional and marketable facility.
• Enforces regulations regarding use of equipment and facility policies and procedures.
• Consistent supervision of laundry supplies.
• Monitoring and scheduled checks of the locker rooms, sauna and steam room.
• Informed on the locker rental process.
• Assist with locker clean out at all recreation facilities.
• Accurately document and secure all items turned into the lost and found.
• May be required to work special events outside normal hours of operation.
• Performs other work as assigned.

Qualifications

• Outstanding customer service skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact with diverse groups through a variety of situations.
• Mandatory attendance at semester training meetings.
• Ability to use independent judgment when needed and strong problem-solving skills.

• Completion of University of Iowa Bloodborne Pathogens Training
