Summer Maintenance Helper
Location: Currier Residence Hall
Rate of pay: $16.48/hour

Open to non-UI students: Yes
Assist Facilities, Mechanics, Environmental Systems Mechanics and Electronics Technicians with repairs and preventive maintenance.
Responsibilities
• Clean and service smoke detectors.
• Change air filters.
• Replace window air conditioners.
• Clean cooling coils and equipment.
• Repair window screens.
• Assist in minor plumbing duties
• Assist with fire panel checks.
• Minor carpentry duties
• Replace ceiling tile
• Ability to climb and work off ladder when needed
• Lube doors and windows.
• Replace electrical receptacle plates.
• Assist in testing, maintenance and cleaning of low voltage electronics, such as card access cameras and fire alarms.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Must pass criminal background check.
• A valid driver’s license and meet and maintain the University Fleet Safety Program driving standard is preferred.
• Must be enrolled as a college student for Fall 2023 semester and provide documentation of registration
• Must be able to move up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
• Must be reliable and dependable.
• Must be motivated self-starter and able to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work outside, non-air conditioned, or construction areas.
